Why use an indoor tanning lotion?

Indoor tanning lotions are specifically designed for use during tanning sessions. Unlike SPF products, indoor tanning lotions do not provide sun protection and they should never be used as a substitute for sunscreen when you’re outdoors.

​

One of their biggest benefits is encouraging the tanning process and keeping your skin moisturised and conditioned. Tanning and heat can leave skin feeling dry and well-moisturised skin generally looks smoother and holds its colour better than dry, flaky skin.

Think of it this way - when skin cells flake away, some of your lovely colour goes with it!

What’s inside the lotions?

Quality tanning lotions contain carefully selected ingredients designed to accelerate tanning, condition and moisturise your skin while you tan.

Depending on the lotion you choose, these can include:

A deeper, more even-looking tan

Moisturised skin is the key to keeping a beautiful-looking tan. Using a good-quality tanning lotion and a tan extender between sessions helps keep your skin feeling soft and conditioned while reducing the dry, dull appearance that can make a tan fade more quickly.

Many of our lotions also contain ingredients designed to help your tan look smoother and more even, while others focus on hydration, skin conditioning or a deeper-looking colour.

Bronzers

Don’t be frightened by the word bronzer!

Modern professional tanning bronzers are very different from traditional fake tan and cheap online lotions. There are lots of different strengths available, including subtle options suitable for customers who are only just starting to build their colour.

You can choose from instant or delayed bronzers, and we’ll always help you choose a level appropriate for your existing tan and the result you’re looking for. We wouldn’t recommend jumping straight into one of our strongest bronzers if you’re very pale - there are much better options for gradually building a beautiful, natural-looking colour (we don’t want you orange either!)

Tingle lotions

Ready to take things up a notch?

We also stock tingle lotions for experienced tanners.

These create a warming or tingling sensation on the skin and are designed for customers looking to intensify their tanning routine.

Tingles aren’t for everyone - and some are seriously hot! - so please speak to us before choosing one, especially if you’ve never used one before. Please be aware we don't allow tingle lotions on our laydown sunbeds.

Tattoos

Got tattoos? Ask us about lotions containing ingredients designed to help protect the appearance and vibrancy of tattooed skin.

If your tattoo is new or still healing, however, please follow the aftercare advice given by your tattoo artist before tanning.
